Ludd-a-bi

I found the answer to my question in Post #256 above, through a member over at HipPocket (thanks, Jon!).

It's the Ludd-a-bi, published in the March 2006 RC Model World. The plan is available here: http://shop.traplet.com/product.aspx?c=3023.

I've ordered the plan, and will start building as soon as it arrives.

MAN P-47 Plan

All,

Firstly, thanks to everybody who had taken the time, effort and interest to post all of the plans in this column as well as the Pre-1960 column. Should I live to about 347 years of age, I will still be building models from the plans presented!

The ulterior reason for this post is this: Sometime back in the 60's, MAN had a plan for a Ukie P-47 in Robert Johnson's markings (Penrod& Sam). I believe that it was powered by a 40 - 60 size engine and maybe designed by Walt M.

If anyone has a copy of thes plans to post here, it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanx
Ray

Beagle Pup plan

In the thread Looking for RC Limited (book) or Beagle Pup article from it at
https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show...9&postcount=11
Fradleyflyer mentioned that the October 1968 issue of Aeromodeller had a plan for the Beagle Pup 150.
Over in the FF plans thread at
https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show...&postcount=593
Algy2 posted a plan that was free in the October 1968 issue Aeromodller for the Beagle Pup. Steve (WMD) pieced the plan pages together and uploaded it to Outerzone at:
http://www.outerzone.co.uk/plan_details.asp?ID=3383
along with the one page article.

I am uploading that Beagle Pup 150 plan here.

Hi Ray
Welcome to RCG!
Robert Johnson flew four airframes during WWII.
The last one was Penrod and Sam.
Unless you are building a museum display piece, you can build a P-47D model.
By this time in the war, aircraft were polished aluminum.
Paint the nose ring red.
Paint the rudder yellow (just the rudder, not the vertical stab)
Tail number 25512 in black.
On the fuselage "LM (Star n Bars) Q" in black
The red cowl identified the 56th Fighter Group
The color yellow and designation "LM" identified 62 squadron.
Q identified the individual aircraft (assigned to Johnson)
http://www.littlefriends.co.uk/index.php
The plan from Walt M is from Air Trails Model Annual 1954 (off the internet)
The aircraft identification FF was assigned to a P-51 squadron, and the tail number 30462 was never manufactured.
Regards
Rick

MAN P-47D Plans

Rick,
Thanks for the information.
I have nearly every copy of plans for P-47s but lack the set that I have requested. Come to think of it, I now believe that the plans were in an issue of American Modeler.

Thank you for that one Steve. That has been one of my favorite birds since I saw the original article in 1975. Don't suppose you also have the rib templates for a built up wing (other than the tip and root rib) do you?

I detest foam wings!!! I usually calculate the ribs using Corel or Photoshop. It is easy. First you must calculate how many ribs are you going to install and ther length. Also the spars LE and TE etc. Then with the software is very, very easy to "draw" each rib. Perhaps it can also be done with AutoCad but I don't like the coldness and difficulty of this software. Good luck!!!!
