Inter Tour F5J, Corona Cup 2012 (26-27th May)

Stork 4 X Electro achieved 1st position (in its first international F5J comp. this year) in the hands of Juraj Adamek (SVK) in Matko (HUN) this weekend. He gained 6000 points of of 6 flights in preliminary rounds and 2000 out of 2 fly-off rounds (FAI altitude was 68 and 65 meters).
Totally, there were 3 pilots flying Storks with new X-tail version in the fly-off: Szeri András, Marko Gala and Juraj Adamek.

Marko-

Can I ask you to take a few pictures of the servo installs, and also the way the tail pieces bolt on and connect to the linkages??

I am interested in the design, but it seems there are just not many detailed pics of this plane.

One thing that is interesting, is, the ailerons are top hinged, right? Is the servo linkage possible to hide inside the wing and fly without a tunnel cover over an outside linkage below the wing? Hopefully you understand what I am asking. I'm not too good at explaining, sorry.

Hi target,

pictures (a bunch of them) have already been taken and are available at manufacturer´s web. See "News 2012" page at: http://www.heinrich.sk/

Yes, unlike flaps, ailerons are top hinged. It is much easier and faster to do it in a way it is prepared or you can spend a few hours and rebuilt the aileron linkage according to you...in order to eliminate the resistance of the front surface of aileron servo cover (whose front surface out of the section is 0,8 x 0,9 cm).

Cheers

Thanks for the link, Marko.
I'm still a little unclear how the stabilizer works....
I have to guess that inside the stab is a rod with two holes that the the bolts go through, and the rod is free to pivot in tubes in the stab?? Is that correct?
It looks like a very unique and interesting arrangement that spreads the pivot load over a large area, unlike some other pivoting stab designs....

Is the F3J X tail still coming out at 2000g ready for flight, as equipped with the Futaba gear specified?

Thanks.
Tax return might be spoken for!

Yes, you are right. The carbon rod is firmly attached to fuse by 2 bolts. It means elevator pivots thanks to 2 ball gearings inside.

RTF weight of F3J version of Stork X-tail is approx. 1815-1830 grams now.
