At a time when many radio makers are getting rid of modules, FrSky is going out of their way to include them in the new radios even though their RF will be internal.

They have reasons for this.. but we don't want to let all of the cats out of the bag, do we?

FrSky is 2 steps ahead of the competition.
Hmmm... intriguing! I shall now retire to my hollowed out volcano to consider what evil masterplan can be executed via an RF model doing something other than, well... standard RF module type stuff!

If I hold it in one hand, do the lower buttons get pressed?

I am thinking of using it for DLGs.

Kinda reminds me of the 9303.

I do like the mockup for the 12. Just wonder how hard it will be to hold when spinning/throwing a discus launched glider.

Looking forward to holding one in person!!!!

that sucks, I won't buy a $170 module to bind my FASST receivers, this radio is not for me.

Ever thought to use for a DLG a single stick radio ?! Or... even a car pistol radio !!! 3 channels are enough... excellent grip when launch... what you want more ?

Well, you've stocked on FASST receivers, so... now you're supposed to use the >$500 Futaba radios that go with them
There are no 3rd-party FASST-compatible transmitters. Receivers yes, but no transmitters.

You could also sell your Futaba receivers, and buy twice as many FrSky telmetry receivers (or more, maybe also the radio) for what you'll get out of them

But it is 3 easy payments of $56.66...

Not sure why you would want to use FASST with this transmitter? If you trust the FrSky receivers (FASST or otherwise), why not just switch to THEIR technology that is getting some pretty nice features added or enabled with these transmitters (I believe).

I'm thinking there's a new frequency coming. 5.8GHz, or maybe something long-range? Long Range but fully digital...?

Or maybe a video receiver?

Not our fault you are bought into Futaba. But hey, $170 could get you 8 FrSky receivers. Just jump ship now before you spend any more on Futaba!

Yeah, the latter is a possibility, but I don't see a totally new transmission frequency tbh - global RF regulations would make that a niche product at best.

But that is the advantage of a radio with a module - futureproof! 220/221 whatever it takes (those of you old enough to remember Michael Keaton).

I would think lower frequency would be better for long range and through objects like trees

900MHz is gaining popularity and although not available globally, the market is probably big enough to make it worthwhile.

I'm not sure but I think 900MHz is used for Mobile comunications here.. so, it would be ilegal I guess..
