CB180Z Tail drive shaft problems

Is there an easy way to remove and replace the keyed plastic gears onto the fiberglass drive shaft on the Walkera CB180Z Helicopter without breaking the shaft?

They are press fitted onto the shaft and hard to remove and replace.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I have the same issue, I think a pinion puller might be the best way. I have a gear to replace on my 4f180 and its the same tail drive as the cb180z so I feel your pain. Also the shaft is carbon fiber not fiberglass so its a little tougher than you would think. Try a pinion puller and maybe some light oil to help it slide off.

I finally got the new tail shafts and I buffed them down with some very fine sand paper and coated the ends with oil and wiped the oil off. The new gears went on quite well without having to put a lot of pressure on them.

I guess that will be my technique from now on. Thanks for your reply.
