ca hinge source


we gotta hold of some great CA hinges that come in a 36 in. roll from radiosouthrc , went to order some and they wanted $18 to send 10 rolls which wieghed all of 3 oz. so forget that nonsense, is thier somewhere else that has these type of hinges? Im thinking thiers some place you can get these real cheap from a materials outfit

10 rolls for $18 is cheaper than I can get them for at my LHS. I just bought a pack of like 15 3/4 inch by 1 inch for $6.

that was $2.75 roll + $18 postage! these hinges are hard to find!! anyone else know who has'em??

It's a 7 inch x 5 inch single sheet for $0.99 shipping is a killer from them though.

I looked at their standard hinges, don't know if that will work for you, but ordering 10 or 20 packs of 18 cost $8.50 for usps shipping.

They're free at the Post Office. Pickup a Priority Mail envelope that's made of Tyvec. It will out last any plane and it's STRONG! Try tearing it.

I've been making continuous Tyvec hinges with the envelope stuff. Sealed hinge line.

good idea, so are they are they fairly stiff? I need to be able to shuve it in a hinge slot

I have used Tyvec house wrap material on my last three builds. The envelope will work also, I was able to get some Tyvec house wrap from a construction company that was building a house near me.
Works good on my electric gliders, double it over it you need more strength.
I use it the same as ca hinges.

I saw a decent one on someone making hinges from cured epoxy. I can see how they would be strong but that's a bit expensive for some hinges.
