I'm not GPS savvy, though I do have one that I "inherited" from my wife.

I looked up a map of Forest Park, and found the road to the boathouse site without any problem. Interesting stuff there in the area---.

To top it off, my hotel is very close to the park entrance, and near a "Hooter's" restaurant---.

The closest Hooters I can think of is east of the park on 7'th street.

Then it must have been another hotel I was thinking of, as I stayed at two different Red Roofs in St. Louis at various times, and one had a Hooters in front of it---.

Port of Louisville
By a strange twist of fate I was in St. Louis this weekend, while unfortunately I will be traveling for work the weekend of the regatta I did want to scope out the new venue.

WOW! Its so much nicer than Union Station....which was a pretty good place to run boats too. The wife and I ate at the boathouse restaurant, food was good and reasonable, then rented a paddle boat and roamed around the vast lake/canal system in the park. The whole time I kept thinking about how much fun an r/c boat would be there!

Last year did the r/c boats get to roam around or did you all pretty much just stay there by the boathouse? I'd love to see some pictures of last years event, the St Louis Admirals website doesn't have much on it from last year.

Did they leave the light on for you, Kap?

The only one that could have been was the one in Maryland Heights (Westport) area, Page and I-270.

We could run around anywhere we wanted to but most of us stayed around the boat house. What the boat house people really liked is that we pulled a bunch of chairs in front of the tent by the water and didn't interfere with thier customers. Here are some pictures of last year.

Thanks for the pix---.

Looking forward to playing at this venue, and I can tell that the water is a LOT cleaner than at Union Station.

Probably less "aromatic" too---.

I'm planning to come out from Michigan. Has anyone checked to see how the drought has affected the lake level?

The hurricane leftovers resolved any drought effects for surface water.

I'll be there, although working 2nd shift and living 65 miles away will make it hard to be there early Sat morning. Probably wont have the Bismarck with me, hes looking a bit tired, needs some time in drydock. Kap, Im very happy to see your comming! Kaps hulls are the best! Its also exciting to see what Longbike will bring, hes a great modeller. Always nice to talk with Greenboat and the rest of the guys. Lets all hope for good weather.

My daughter's full-scale glider club is having a fly-in, and I'm in charge of ground operations. I'm working hard to get some of our Proboat guys down to it, though.

It's been over a month since she's been able to fly so she'll be needing me there to get the time in.
