Combining DJI Wookong-M with mikrokopter power system, good idea?

Hello, I am about to order a droidworx skyjib 8 and am looking for a nice system to control it and to power it. I am really impressed by the video's that I am seeing of the DJI WK-M on the Skyjib so Decided to use that one to control this beast. The next thing is the system I am going to use to power the octocopter, is the Octo V8 RTF system a nice one? It seems so to me.

DJI WK-M

Okto XL V8 power system

Thanks in advance!

Good idea if DJI had adjustable ESC pulses, the way it is now, they don't send low enough 'idle' pulse to arm those MK escs in PWM mode, so, no, you cannot use them.

I suggest getting some 30-40A BlueSeries, reflashing with simonk firmware instead.

Do you have a link to these ESC's? The thing about this power system is that it also looks nice, I would like to avoid using 8 seperate esc's mounted somewhere to the frame.

I also saw this one, the aerodrive 8 but it is in my opinion far to expensive.

Another question then, would the stock mikrokopter controller be a good replacement for the DJI? Offering the same options and stability (of the MC and the gimball)

Maybe you should wait until DJI makes a magical power board w/escs built in.
Until then, gotta use separate escs.

I'll let someone else handle MK vs DJI debate. Or you can just start by reading both threads.

timecop, it would be interesting if DJI were to create a I2C interface for their MU. Probably not going to happen, but think how many MK users would convert if they could just plug their molex lead into an adapter. You want to make one? Maybe DJI would pay you a royalty for a while.

I thought the start PWM pulse for MK ESCs was configurable in Koptertool? Can this not be lowered to start the ESC's? Anyone tried this?

better not to use the MK ESC
special with the DJI you can be happy not to use them
more then 4cell and bigger motor etc. cause to often temp problems at BL-ctrl2.0
it is more solid to use ESC with Optocoubler, that reduce many electric troubles

The IC from BL_ctrl had only an advantage if you can implement that to a telemetrie System, like single Temperature control etc.
