I think I'm inverted. Maybe.

I just tried that as well, but the RSS also spams with forum posts, and so all posts with 9XR on the HK forums started popping up there as well. Sigh... I'm probably not going to be buying a 9xR anyway.

So grep the new products page rather than the rss feed. Too easy.

grep will filter out any lines NOT containing a PATTERN

So if you have a file "file" with many lines, usage would be
Code:
cat file | grep PATTERN
If you want to look for a line containing "megan", syntax would be:
Code:
cat file | grep megan
That simple

so would it be something like
Code:
cat http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__309__190__Tx_Rx_Systems_Parts-2_4Ghz_Turnigy.html > grep 9XR

It's all about Quadcopters
Hi just in case anyone is a geek like me and knows some PHP and wants to make a feed checker here is what I would do:

Create a file called "check.php"

Code:
Code Removed!
Then just make a blank file called "failsafe.txt" and put it in the same folder then just setup a cron job to check every few minutes...done!

EDIT: Actually I decided to remove the code because HobbyKing might be bombarded with cron requests and there site already seems to be running very slow, but if anyone wants to be added to my code then just PM me there email address

No, it wouldn't work so easy, you need to download the file first (wget would work).
But ecreative posted a php script that is much better!

I'll try it now... :P

Thanks for the code!
What would work for the cron job? Just curl'ing the checker.php file?

EDIT: the email is sent (returns 1, TRUE) but I don't receive it in my inbox.. strange..

Is that through manually running the script or through the cron job?

If it is through the cron make sure you add php -f before the link to the code as some cron jobs stop emails being sent:

e.g.

Code:
php -f /home/USERNAME/public_html/HK/check.php
As a test I set the script to search for "Orange" as the three latest feeds have that word in them

From the Orange module manual:

if I understand correctly, they use GUID as id (http://www.spektrumrc.com/DSM/Technology/DSM2.aspx), if that is true, then according to wikipedia "the total number of unique such GUIDs is 2^122 or 5.310^36. This number is so large that the probability of the same number being generated randomly twice is negligible".
Unless all orange tx modules have initial id equal or their id not truly GUID, possibility to have two people with same id's in single field is much smaller than possibility to win jack pot seven times in a row
