That video makes me laugh, my dad was a computer programmer and it seems like all the floppy disks with my favorite games, Lemmings, Paku, Crusin USA and all the others were just copies with the white stickers they gave you in the pack with the name written in pen on them.

I remember punched paper tape (Friedan Flexowriter) feeding a vacuum tube computer (ALWAC3E)!

Well that beats me, but I did start off keying in the boot-loader one 12-bit word at a time via the toggle switches on the front panel of a PDP-8 just to get it to the point where it could read the OS-loader from the paper tape reader on a teletype!

It's been a marvelous adventure being involved with digital computers almost from their inception through to the technological miracles we carry around in our pockets these days.

Looking forward to seeing what this next round of Tx can do given just how much power is available for pennies these days

Ahh yes the good old days....although my memories are of the PDP 11/45,11/60,11/70...years later spent in VAX/VMS Development @ DEC. Lockheed Martin, Oracle, Kodak, Microsoft, Sun Microsystems..laid-off in 2009. In today's market very tough to get back in.

Anyway back to the 9XR....

I PWN all of you. My first "computer" was this:

Then I upgraded to this:

Just kidding. The first computer I ever sat behind in 6th grade was a TRS80. The first computer my family could afford back in the day (and it was a big purchase that my parents had to save for) was an Amiga.

Hi Left Coast DJ

You had a major up grade missing the log table era.

My first computer was core memory with a drum disk upgrade. A GE115.

Cheers jq

Guys,
Any update on ETA?

I've seen this:
International WH 15.11.2012
Eu WH 17.12.2012

But when is it going to be presented?

How long do you think it takes to pack 10,000 units, ship them to the warehouse and get the stocked?

Not coming up on HK search as of this morning.

I bet at launch they will not have more than.... some hundreds.
Nobody stocks 10.000 items of similar product of this kind/size, anywhere in this industry.
The top RC sellers of HK, some receiver types, sells under 1000 monthly.

Jeez, so if the 9xr DSM or flysky? Did we ever get confirmation on that? I'm sure it will be out of stock as soon as it's released! Do I get one or not? Do I even need another radio? Might be nice for BNF models.
