I've said that all along. I think it to be pretty obvious. Even if it had been a completely different design than the 9X, I would have still pinned it on FlySky.

I will admit I have not read every post since the radio was released, but I was just on the HK forum for the 9XR to see what is being discussed there. It seems that the radios are arriving with cracked cases. Cracks are evident in a variety of locations and eveyone who posted photos seems to have the cracks in the same places.

Are your radios clean? I don't seem to have picked up any comments about cracked cases in this thread. You can read the reports here.

After wading through what seems like a trillion posts since the release, I'm glad I didn't jump. Cheap as it is, I'm expecting more bang for my buck with the X9D. Especially since the 9XR works out at about $130+ at my door with FrSky module & rx.

I would be happy if they just released the modules! The 9XR is not $50, but more like $180, which puts it close to higher quality radios.

There are comments a few pages back.

If you look closely at the pics on the HK product page, you will see they were present on them as well. They were rather poorly photoshopped out on most of them. There is clear evidence of the healing and clone tools used in photoshop to fix these kind of things on images. You can see one of them in one pic that they didnt photoshop out. So, they knew about the issue before shipping started and tried to hide it.

Anthony did say that he wasnt happy with the plastics and was delaying because of it. I wonder if that was it and he decided to go ahead with them.

Um... it was $200 shipped and taxes for the 9XR, FrSky telemetry with 2 receivers, DJT module, FLD-02 screen, sensor hub, and 2 voltage meters, and one vario.

Of course, you could get OrangeRX DSMX and a ORX receiver for like $30 and only pay $80+$20 shipping.

But even if it was $200, that's half of what you pay for an 8CH anywhere else. 16CH of you use a DJT on the JR, and a DHT-U for the PPM trainer port, and use 2 receivers

Then you can mix all you want and use 16 CH

Because it doesn't come with an module & rx, it effectively almost doubles the price compared to getting a 9X, even for a basic setup.

I have all the same marks on mine. I'd be willing to bet that everyone does. I didn't notice them until I put it under a bright light and looked for them.

Knit marks in cases.

Hi guys.

I took the liberty to take some images of the knit marks from the Hobbyking forum of the link above.
Knit marks (or knit lines) occur, when the flow fronts of the liquid plastic during the injection molding process meet each other in an unfavorable way.
They look like fine cracks on the finished product.
I just spoke with an injection molding specialist who happens to work in my department, and she confirmed that the reasons for this can be either excess moisture in the raw material, or some tweaking needs to be done concerning the injection temperature and speed.

There are Mode 1's in stock. I just ordered one to keep me going till I get an X9D or X12D !
I bought a DX6I which came in cheap crappy molding. Still works fine after several years though still looks cheap!

Nope... Some soldering tools and skills required, as well as a screwdriver and extra servo wire.

It's pretty hard, which is what we were complaining about before.
