MJX T-34 won't start

I bought my father-in-law a T-34 last year. At the time it was flown and used quite happily. Then it was out away in storage for a while (remote batteries removed, of course).

He's just tried to fly it today after fully charging it and fitting new batteries in the remote.

The LED's on the heli light-up, so it has power. The LED on the remote flashes, so that has power too.

But... Using the remote doesn't seem to have any impact on the heli - the rotors don't turn, can't turn the LEDs off, or anything.

Any ideas where to start looking?

Thanks

I assume you go through the binding procedure where you switch on the heli first, switch on remote and move left stick (mode 2) to the top and then bottom of its travel.
