Brushless for ThunderTiger/Ace Seamaster
I have a seamaster currently running an OS 46.
I have running gear from a wrecked heli that I'd like to move over:
6s1p Lipo, 6000 mah
CC Phoenix Ice 100 ESC
And a Century 600+ motor (which I assume is not going to work for this).
Seamaster is in the 7lb range. It is I believe limited to an 11" prop. It doesn't need to go fast, but does need good low speed power to get off of the water. I think if there was a reason to go with a larger diameter prop I'd have to raise the pod, which I'd rather not do.
Any motor recommendations? I don't have a brand preference, and am fine spending $100 or more if necessary to get the right fit. Any input appreciated!
In case anyone else wants to do this, there's a million opinions out there, but little data. Here's what I ended up with:
E-Flite Power 52 Brushless Outrunner Motor, 590Kv
Stuck w/ the original 11x7 prop I had on my .46 nitro engine
Static full power:
That's w/ the 6s1p 25c lipo, 6000 mah, and CC Phoenix Ice 100.
Feels like it has plenty of power, but haven't tried flying it yet. Still need to mount the battery.
