20 print "Hello world"

Hello all. I'm a second-year resident in the school of RC aircraft (please note: this is not a real school!).
My first plane was a HZ Champ. It took it's licks while teaching me the fundamentals of flight. Next came the HZ Super Cub. That transition was terrifying: I was completely unprepared for the speed difference between the two! My first landing was particularly scary. Next was Phoenix flight simulator. After flying on the sim for a bit, the Super Cub just seemed sluggish in the air. Without much forethought, I went out and got an e-flite UMX Extra 300 (as my first 4 channel plane), along with a DX-8. A few days later, I purchased an MQX quadrocopter. Now, just a few days ago, I finished an aileron mod for my Super Cub.

It has been quite a ride so far. Many, many crashes with the Champ led to only a few with the Super Cub. In fact, the worst with the SC has been (so far, knock on wood) a wingtip stall at about twenty feet (6+ meters) of altitude while gliding dead stick. Lesson learned. It cost me a cowl, prop, and some 2" packing tape. Not much and could have been worse. Speaking of tape, my Champ is probably (at least) 25% tape... On to the extra, in my first few flights I tore off a wing. It is one flimsy [beep] plane! HoweHowever, the crash was simply a matter of getting ahead of myself, getting too anxious with the D/R switches. I just couldn't resist switching it to full 3-D. The MQX is now broken, it being my first helicopter-type aircraft. That's what I get for doing flips and rolls...

Where I live is also where I fly. I have 10 acres, most of which is tree-free. It is a large rectangular field. It is old farmland, so the ground is uneven and rough. I have to hand launch, and my landing strip drops maybe three feet from one end to the other, not to mention the random dips and bumps. The worst thing is that there is an almost constant crosswind on the runway.

So, that's it. Oh, I flew the SC in 15+ MPH wind today. Couldn't have done it without the ailerons...was flying in place for over a minute!
