So if I were buy this repeater then it would work with my dx6i TX that I have now right? Then all I would have to do is buy an extra 433Mhz UHF RX for the plane right?

I believe you would also need the corresponding UHF Transmitter as well as the the UHF receiver that goes on your plane. So, you need to also buy the UHF LRS system of your choice.

OK so it would go like this 2.4 - repeater - UHF TX - UHF RX

Thought this was saying that it would go like this the 2.4 - repeater - UHF RX

What goes up, must come down

It's not that hard to figure out it just takes the signal from one RX and sends it back out via a UHF TX but yes what he said ^^^^ RC TX>RX>Repeater>UHF TX>RX (on plane)

Sorry, doing figure-eights over a field of grass is just too boring for some! I like this idea, I'd like to keep the current 2.4 system I have. (FrSky, I have like 6-7 receivers already and I'd rather not have to re-buy a lot of things.) So this repeater thing is definitely interesting.

I Think you you Got it All right. You really don't need any PHD to install or use this system.

Standard rc gear (35/72 mhz or 2,4) tx -> rx -> repeaterbox -> uhf tx -> uhf rx.

You still need the same amount of uhf rx, but now you just use your standard rc gear without hacking your tx.
