FPVlongrange UHF repeater system

I have the pleasure testing this nice "new" FPV product.

It's a RC repeatersystem so you can use your standard RC gear sending up to 12 CH to a repeaterbox - UHF RC SYSTEM.

I have made this illustration on how the system works in princip.

The repeatersytem is well tested with Dragonlink & TLRS & EzUHF system

Dragonlink: 12 CH
EzUHF: 8 CH
TLRS: 10 CH

The repeaterbox is milled out in a nice ALU case permanent closed.

Some would ask! But why? Well I like the possability to place the strong 433Mhz UHF signal away from my sensetive Video receiver. Ect. in top of a mast, hill or on the top of a high building without any long cables.

You can place the repeater 500-1000m away from where you fly.

Off cause when you repeat a signal you will have more delay on the signal receiving the plane, but this is not a problem for FPV & UAV flying. I have used the repeater system with multicopter and there is no problem at all.

** NOTE I'm not the seller or developer of this UHF repeater system.
I will try answer questions the best I can.

Very interesting! Is it any different from a PPM encoder, apart from the nice case?
Who's the developer?
What's the price? http://fpvlongrange.com doesn't mention this product.

Well it no big diffrence, but with a standard encoder you will not be able to get this function. Why? Mostly because the PPM is not right.

Great idea

The best part (to me) seems that you can use any control system you like, without hacking into your expensive Tx, and leaving your trainer port free for headtrackers/plugins.
I would be even more likely to buy this if the LRS manufacturers (TS, EZ, DL etc) just added a facility for plugging in a receiver to their boxes as standard, eliminating the need for a second box.
Eliminating all those fiddly failure-prone servo connectors somehow would be great too, maybe with a block-type connector if your receiver allows it.

Keep in mind, there already exists a few 2.4Ghz Rxs out there that can output a raw PPM
stream which you can connect to the PPM input of any UHF Tx module.
For example. Ch8 on this 7ch Rx outputs PPM.
http://www.rangevideo.com/index.php?...roducts_id=239
FrSky also makes a Futaba FASST compatible Rx with PPM output
http://www.frsky-rc.com/ShowProducts.asp?id=80
Can modify the Corona Synth FM Rx to output PPM
http://www.team-blacksheep.com/article/page:20

This approach obviously doesn't include the ability to multiplex multiple Rxs into one stream, but not everyone needs that.

A video Will be made to show this in action.
This is nothing fancy or new hi tech "must have", but it's really makes things better/easyer to install and use the UHF rc long range systems. I was having big problems getting 10 useable ch from my futaba 10c to the UHF long range system. Using the FPVlongrange repeater system it's just pluging in the output ch from the receiver into the repeater Unit.

No hacking my fataba finding the PPM pin or installing a big uhf tx on my rc tx. Before i had one rc tx for my 2,4 GHz planes and one installed with uhf. Now i only use one rc tx for All my planes and All running on 2,4 GHz. When it's time for long range FPV i just bring the uhf repeater with mé.

Before I had noise in my video link because the uhf 433 mhz was too close to the video link receiver. Now the UHF tx is places in the other end of the flying field installed on a 3 meter tripod.

I'm rather tempted by this device. The ability to mix two RX's together and remotely position the UHF TX is rather appealing!

Hrm interesting idea... I have been considering the concept of 2 RX's (use a cheap 4 ch radio for cam pan/tilt) but range was my concern, this would eliminate that!
