I've been a bit caught up with the Beagle's friends in Graaf Reinet!

Graham is doing the wings, but he is away this week and will be at the DLG Nats in JHB next week.....
So, I'll try and bag a set this weekend
(Haven't done that in a while, and it will have wing joiners that I have never done before!)
I cast a second fuz so I can do the internal sleeves and rudder hinging,
That's about it for now!

Hehehe
Didn't really expect any!

So, left to my own devices,
I made some carbon sleeves for the fuz and wings.
Perhaps I should have done the wings 1st.....
Easier to align!
Anyway, they are set in the fuz with the rudder hinge cut!
I still need to make a rudder wiper.
The wing is reserved for the weekend!
( If all goes well!)

Keep goin' Johann you're almost there
FWIW, I think the rear carbon rod could be a lot shorter, you really only need a pin length to keep the wing from rotating. Might be kinda hard to slide the wing onto two rods of that length, alignment would have to be perfect. Ref my Staaken biplane.

Please take pics of the wiper and details -- I'm curious how best to do that!

Well done, J.

I'm sure the support crew is at least keeping you well supplied with beer!!!

Here is a vid Kevin made of the process....
It is of a hollow wing (not bagged)
I'm sure you could adapt it by raking out the foam.
On the other hand...
It's pretty long, I'll post some pix!
J
Oh, and no beers either!

cutting the Aileron's into a moulded wing. (22 min 40 sec)

Worthwhile vids, start to finish! Not as exciting as sanding, but informative nonetheless!

Yeah, that was a great video- very informative, and for someone like me who has not built a wing like that it's great to see how it's done. The explanation of building in the wipers is fantastic too. The "Fish" is coming along great!
