Soooo...
We're back after a long weekend's frolicking on the Wild Coast!

The slopes and the company was great!
But,
Back in the saddle!

This build has been very slow!

The splitting board and "edge" is complete.
The plug is back in the board, and I'll cast the one face tomorrow!
The motivation indicater is right back in the red!

Some progress.....
The nose mould half has been cast.

I need to leave it a few days to cure as I used extra slow hardener.
I have "cooked" the lay-up in the past as it generates a lot of heat with that quantity of resin going off.

It's also the 1st time I've used a sand resin mix as a filler. I made it fairly resin rich...
Almost like a self levelling screed.
So far so good!

Hi Johann,
Glad you had a great trip,Enjoyed the films.
Did you measure the sand epoxy ratio when you mixed it ? or did you keep adding the sand till it looked right. And then do the same on the other side ?
Do you have an Epoxy Mine at the bottom of your garden ?

I never checked....
I made a pretty runny mix. About 1.5: 1 Sand/Epoxy
The resin forms a "bleed water" effect as the sand settles.
I added sprinkled sand to dry the bleed epoxy...
Looks OK!
I stripped the splitter board, and all looks sound.
I'll add the resin wells and do the next casting.

Yeah, it's slightly oversize....

I'll cut back the nose cone, then scribe the cut line into the mould once it's all fitted.
It will only fit as far as the widest (vertical) part of the fuz anyway.
That's about 2" in front of the leading edge!
