I am itching to fly but will only be able to get to the slope in May due to Ironman South Africa.
Steve -- are you going to break the news to Bakkie that he needs a sloper with a rudder for that move? Like a Le Fish!

It's like he has the power in his hands... and just needs to learn how to use it

The sum total of my weekend's work is on the bench....
What have I been up to!

I have to get the two DLG's done as I need them!
We have a long weekend coming up on Friday,
And we're off to Morgan"s Bay for a slope safari!

Errr.... My wife thinks it's a friends and family thing.....
But, with tears in my eyes,
Why Morgan's Bay together with my slope brothers????

I'll have to make it up sometime!
You never know,
Perhaps there won't be any wind!

The plug has been set up in a splitter board to make the nose cone!
I know this is the long way round, but I'm keen to try a nose cone....

Those DLG wings look great Johann. And le Poisson d'Or is looking good too! (I prefer the look of a canopy myself, but the nosecone may give you a little weight forward...if you need it?)

Thanks Jim, but I never built the DLG wings. They were bagged by Graham for me. I'm simply putting them together.
Graham has done some awesome work on his hand launch planes!
Let's hope he can get the GoldFish light too!

The nose cone should not add much weight... There are a couple of reasons I'm using it.
The internal space is going to be very limited in width. Also due to the Depth, it will be hard to get your fingers in. The fuse width is only 32mm and tapers down to nothing...
The sharp profiled top edge will be difficult to cast a canopy in the traditional sense. I find that the cloth does not lie down well on sharp narrow compound curves.
The internal fuse nose extension will provide strength centrally without having to lay down a servo tray.
The "cone" would not need to have a structural integrity as such and could be very light.
I'm sure I can visually make her look "fishy" too!

Let's see how it goes, but for sure it's more work!

What topic was that again....
Oh yes,
Pure build threads can be boring!
There are far more skilled builders than me if you want to research a topic.
Also, I love the interaction!

Nice to have you around James!

You have a part to play here.
As for original thought....
"A bit of this and a bit of that" generally makes it look nouveau!

I'm just working on what others like Steve have done before and personalizing it a tad.
Speaking of witch...
Best I pull up my skirt!
