Hello all; showing you Danio, my scratch build

Hello all;

I am new here =)

well, not that new to RCgroups but lurking most of the time... = )

I just wish to show you the Danio, my scratch built electric of my own design

technically, I guess I posted in the wrong section since it was designed as a lightweight electric floater

I'm not an expert and a few helpful folks are helping me iron out the kinks (thank you Mr Curtis Suter / CloudyIFR and AMbeck)

Nice - looks like you did a good job.
What power system do you have in it?

well, heres the gear

I've not purchased any new items from anywhere, all of these are from my older planes which have crashed or died or sold ... =)

Tail: V tail config

Servo: 2x Tower Pro 9 gm

they are equal to hxt 900 or hitec hs55

ESC: 18A Hobbywing

equal to 18A turnigy (all from China anyway =p) (old stash)

10 x 6 Aeronaut Cam carbon (old stash)

35 mm aluminum spinner

2217 Turnigy 1050 kv (scavenged from my old stash)

2S 1000 mah Dualsky 25c

from here:

all up weight: about 605 grams

wing loading

7.25 oz per sq ft OR

wing cube loading of 4.2 (darn, I was aiming for 4)

actually, if and lets say if you want to build your own,

I would have gone with the turnigy 2213 size and 3s 750s

more power for almost equal the weight!

but what the heck! I'm not buying any more new stuff =)

I am not familiar with the expression "wing cube loading"
Can you explain it for me?

hello dick

It's a bit hard to explain.

you know, we're used to the term, wing loading, however, wing loading is not a constant, it gets higher as the plane gets larger

with wing cube loading, it's a different way of calculating....

here you go, a link for your reading

Thanks for the link, I understand it now. It's a more advanced way of comparing wing loadings by trying to take size into account.
It's always good to learn something new.
