Laminar flow seperation...Hmmmm...Never thought of that...It's possible! I know it wasn't a CG issue as I checked before the flights. I'll know for sure today when I try again sans camera. If it flies normally I will know never to mount the camera in that particular location again.

She flew!

Even with brisk winds she took off like a champ with no lateral stability issues whatsoever. Clearly it was the placement of the keychain cam all along. Wow, I would have never thought the cam would have made that much of a difference to the flight performance. Well good to know.

Here's pics post crash and repair...

I am guessing because on their website availability for this glider is late April.

Got ASW-28 #2 in the mail the other day. Finally had a break in the clouds for the maiden...MUCH better stability without the keycam at the base of the vertical stab! (On top of the canopy for the maiden)...

They are both nice scale replicas for foam. I have always been partial to the ASW-28...So sleek looking...I'm a scale goober so I painted mine to match some ASW-28's I've seen on the Web...Proper decals and so forth. It's part of the fun for me with the hobby.

This last video I shot is probably only half as high as she could really climb. Now THAT would be some cool video!

AROS,

1. What battery are you using?

2. How are the wings attached ?

baldy, I am using a 3s 1300 mAh battery. The wings attach by screws. Fairly simple setup.

The 1300 battery is perfect for CG...Just push it as far towards the nose as it will go and the CG is dead on.

Here's another video...Tried a different view. Put the keycam on the horizontal stab angled downward. Could have been cooler but the cam made her really tail heavy so there's a lot of porpoising going on. I tried to get some nice altitude as well.

Thanks for the heads-up on the coupon code.
I've been eyeing this plane for a bit and decided for $150 to the door it was pretty much a no-brainer.
