Saturday 3/31/2012 - BSP - the day 500mph will fall!

Saturday's forecast has been huge all week, with gusts to 90mph possible! Like the last few 80-90-100mph wind events, the short range forecast downrates it at the last minute but we know better now! Wind direction looks ideal for BSP. Several of us are planning to go and have a shot at 500mph. Wind is expected to be solid at sunrise and really kick in by 10am. Snow levels are expected to be high enough to not be an issue. My plan is to be there by 10am to avoid the low morning sun and to catch it right as the wind is supercharged by the passing front. If your initials are BT, send me a PM of what time you will be there so I don't miss you again! For everyone else, I am sure there is room to carpool if you let us know!

Wow, exciting Aaron! Can't you put the wind off for a day or 2 so I can be there? I'd love to witness (and film) the fall of 500!

All the best with preparations, conditions and flying.

Forecast getting better again

To my surprise, the projected winds are getting stronger again and are back in line with the long range prediction earlier in the week!

Itenirary for Saturday

For anyone considering heading up to Weldon and BSP tomorrow (Saturday), our plan is as follows:

1. Arrive at Weldon between 9am and 10am
2. Fly and warm up
3. Head to BSP when the wind comes on
4. Shatter all records (WR, Foam, 60", 80", 100", 126", 130")
5. Head over and get pizza in Cal City

Bruce, if you plan to fly tomorrow, I hope to reach Weldon before 9am but could be a bit later depending on circumstance.

Roster:
Jason, Alan, Gary, Aaron, Chris and Billy confirmed.

Frequencies: All on 2.4ghz as far as I remember.

Radio Boxes: 1 for Hitec, 1 for JR/Spektrum

Be prepared for the cold, just in case! See you guys there!
