Crash proof notebook vinyl wing tip stabilizer
Somewhere on the internet it was suggested to use notebook vinyl for wing tip stabilizers - can't find the reference now but thanks to whoever it was. I tried it and like it because they are indestructible. Mine are just held on by a ponytail bungee and three dowels I epoxied into the wing which also act like bumpers. Ugly but functional - sort of like the Warthog which is getting replaced by the F-35 - sure to disappoint a lot of grunts.
Update 6/4: I have gone finless on all my wings now. They fly great if not better than with fins. Faster, less drag and no fixing broken or fallen off fins. Flight characteristics are not too different. |
