My theory is, if it works well, don't mess with it, and as you can see, most of us have found the same answer. CaptCB

For this Sintra wheelhouse, I used thick CA and the Duplicolor high build primer followed by Duplicolor acrylic white. Both were from O'Reiley auto parts. It goes on much better than the new Krylon formula, has better tips and dries really fast..

Painting PVC foamboard

Just like CaptDH, I use Automotive touch up paint, and O'Reily's, again. I spray the paint directly on the pvc, NO primer. With today's paints, the thicker the paint, the more likely it is to chip. You can thank the EPA!! CaptCB

Jim, I just square cut, that's also how the wheelhouse will fit together. I try to put the seams on the side walls, as they are easier to sand, and fill, if needed. Charlie

Ha now it’s my turn to stoke the fire, what do you use as a filler? Bondo is miserable on sintra.

I use Evercoat Catalyzed body putty on Sintra all the time - works just fine. Love the stuff. Edges hold up much better than lacquer based putties (which I also use to fill pin holes). Evercoat comes in different varieties, but I use the basic stuff in the dark blue can - it is like Bondo, but more finely milled.

My favorite filler is Marine-Tex, a commercial, marine epoxy filler. I also use it to bed stuffing box's, etc. It was designed for bedding through hull fittings, on real boats. CaptCB

Well I just found out using a water jet doesn't work (grape vine chit chat) I was thinking about making the boat houses using a cnc router. I understand that the cad drawings need to be converted to run the router...but to what format. Any one doing this for a living? I have a cad program (still messing with it..I am barely a newbe) I mostly stare at it and it stars back at me I though it would look better than if i chopped it out with a knife..my motor skill are not what they use to be...know what i mean?
Tuesday I get my Sintra so we will see.

Best adhesive for Sintra (Expanded PVC)

Weld On 2007 is an excellent water thin adhesive for Sintra. Sorry for the bump.

Just to mention another possible source of sheet PVC:

My local home building store (Menards, a midwest chain) sells 4x8 sheets of PVC/sintra for $23. Looks to be 2.5mm. Textured somewhat on one side, but smooth on the other. They sell it as waterproof wall covering. Other home store may carry this stuff as well. I have actually used this product on some of my basement laundry room walls to make it a bit more finished and brighter looking.

But I also have this place right in my backyard:

they sell 1,2,3 mm as well as the thicker stuff and many groovy colors of the 3mm.
