Equivalent to Rimfire .10

Hey fellas,

I am new to RC planes and I am almost finished assembling my electrifly ARF. All I need is a motor. The recommendation is a Rimfire. 10 and I would like to stick to something relatively the same through hobbypartz.com since motors on that website are cheap.

These are specifications for rimfire .10

These are motors I am looking into.

Which one would be the closes to the rimfire. 10?

Thanks!

I have been using the Hobbypartz Exceed Alpha 480 on a number of my planes, along with the Proton 40 ESC and the Sky Lipo 2200 20c batteries. A great combination, but sadly Hobbypartz has been out of most of the motors that they carry for quite a dew months now, and supporting parts are not available either. Don't bother trying to get any answers on the phone from them, unless you want to starve waiting for anyone to pick up. That's some business model that they have there. You would be far better off calling Heads Up RC in Florida. They answer the phone, are well informed about what they sell, and even have the stuff in stock. A variety of 480 class motors are available and their shipping rates are very inexpensive. Give them a call and save yourself a lot of frustration.

I like hobbypartz for Proton ESC's, Dynam and Solar servos,& SkyLipos (Best deal out there really) but as for motors, their "in" stock selection is too limiting and inconsistent. I think they don't re-order from a regular supplier. They seem to get a batch of brand "X", then 6 months later when most "X's" are sold out, they get brand "Y", and so on... It's really hard to plan ahead this way. I've never seen their motors re-stock in the 2 years I've been ordering from them

I usually get cheapie motors at headsup or hobbyking (if need be). I just suggested the Super Tigre (supplied by many LHS's) since the Rimfire .10 and ST .10 are about identical in specs, but still the same price as HP, HU or HK.

Take this 411 for what it's worth and best of luck with your project!

I have to second restlesswind's recommendation of the super Tigre .10. I have three of them and find them good and consistant performers. Specs are quite comparable to the Rimfire.
