yeah, i think my drive line could be a little better angle, or maybe the cg, it seems a little jumpy. it could have been the larger boats making waves too i suppose, though farther away it still seemed to skip a little. hard to tell without much time in the water really. i think the sponsons angle is good as it sits right up on plane easily and recovers from nose ins fast.

so many things to try, not sure where to really start

Do you have a nice dead on side view pic of the riggeroo. You needed less prop in the water for lower amps what was the Kv of that motor?

Here's my buddy Bill Oxideen setting the world's fastest record on 1s. And he came up with the mold and the design himself.
Speed: 71.656mph and had a fast run of 73.xxxmph

1s Rigger Novak powered Bill Oxidean world record breaking passes Venom, Airtronics (2 min 2 sec)

Hey Derk,
I'll be combining our two different approaches on micro flex shafts in the near future. I just ordered most of the material. It would be a wire drive like the driveline in my original rigger, but built more like yours and a full size flex/wire drive.

I have the rigger itch again. I'm thinking 6.5"-7" AUL. I will have time to build once I get back the Atl on the 15th. I just will not be able to design the hardware until the hull is complete.
I'll hopefully be able to pick up on the M140 when I get back to Daytona.

This is going to be for the new Rx. It looks like it will have a total length of 8.25". It is also made from bass instead of balsa, which is a first for me.

The coupler I made has a major unevenness in balance which is to be expected. I'm going to make a little jig to see if the CA alone would be enough to balance it, or if I would have to build ballast into it. Aside from that, here is where it's at.

I made a new coupler. It better aligns the two shafts (longer) and I added balance cutouts to it.

The rigger is built and it runs great, but I guess it's a bit big for the motor. Any ideas on where to get a larger motor? It uses an 8.4mm motor right now. I am avoiding going brushless.

next size up would likely come from one of the losi micro cars, they have a decent selection of brushed motors, not sure what amp range they have though.

That rigger needs about 30w to do well without stressing the motor. How many watts did you have on tap Kev? Derk the 41 k motor looks good should do well with 1S and the 15mm props. I have used that size can back in the day on 2S the new HKV motors should be interesting change that could yield some real performance for cheap. I would say he needs 5A esc for load bursts to push the 15mm 2blade props DD.
Specification:
* Turn: 34T
* Voltage: 2.4 ~3.6V
* Current: 0.8A (no Loading)
* RPM: 41000 (no Loading in 3.6V)

I think I may just go brushless with this one and build a smaller version for brushed. I built it within the constraints of a 3 amp esc for the purposes of a future rx. The driveline accepts a 1mm shaft on the motor end.

Would that motor happen to fit within the limitations?

Its a 2mm drive shaft on that motor and I imagine it will push the 3A limit unless your willing to prop down as needed till your pulling 2.5A at wot.
