It is running fine. A little loctite wouldn't hurt though.

Kev, the motor is only good for 4amps? Your going to burn it up on 2s the drive line drag alone has it drawing close or over 1 amp no load. Even if you water cool the low pitched 15mm prop is going to be too much perhaps a 10mm. Are the ducted fan guys using it on2s with air flow? Recommend you go 2P 1S for the first tests do a temp check and duration check to get a feel of the amp draw under load.

Ya it is running too hot. I hope I didn't overheat the motor on maiden. I'll switching to 1s.

so how did it go kev, did you get to try it out?

i ask because i was working on mine today and am concerned that the prop might not lift out with my motor. if i hold the prop about half under the water, it screams like mad and throws water all over the bathroom
but with it submerged, i can't tell if it will have the push needed to get to the high rpm surface running.
i also think the cg might be too far back. hard to really tell without the sponsons though.

I ran it on 2s in the spring and got to dangerous heat levels without noticing so I hope the motor is alright. I'll try it on 1s when I get the Scorpion (ya that name isn't really working too much for me anymore) going. I sold the receiver I used.

I don't have it right now. My stuff are in storage for the summer. I'll have to pick the project back up in the fall.

here is some progress i have made on my rigger. i also made the top decking and just need to seal the hull before i can test run it
for the hardware, i used some pre made fiberglass plate i found in a power supply box.
i also glued the esc female connector to the side of the hull to help keep the wires away from the motor, it's not too difficult to plug and unplug.

Kev, i used a piece of that silicone tube as a pushrod boot with some plumbers grease, its smooth but water tight.

got to run the rigger for the first time, and while it is much faster than the cracker, i think my motor is working a bit to hard for this application. after opening it up, i could smell the heat of the windings

unfortunately, the pool i'm at isnt large enough to get full throttle for more than a split second before it hits a wall! i need an Olympic size pool haha

So I guess I'm not the only one with heat. I hate to say it, but I think it is being caused by the flex shaft rubbing on the aluminum stuffing.

its a possibility, it would be a good test to change one out with jointed drive and the same motor and see what the difference is.

i will still try to get a video of this one, even though it never gets full speed because of the short space

shot some video today at the pond, couldnt get one in the pool. and as i feared, the motor cooked after the second lap
i will play around with lubing the drive shaft as well as other motors.

Sweet, mine did the same exact thing, except it isn't setup right so it didn't go anywhere fast.
