New Video : First Day Of Spring On the Slope

Spent the day doing a few vids, had the slope to myself! For most of the day.. Not unusual though
Wind started off at 8mph and thermally about 45 off the slope, then picked up to 10 mph to pretty much bang on.

It was first day of spring 2012.The full size were out doing aerobatics today on aerotow. The hawks were chasing the gliders. The grass was green. Sky was blue. Blossom was out. Wind was good, i got my favourite toys out.

What beautiful landscapes. Might I suggest you look into some sort of head-cam or a camera where you can follow the flight. There was some very nice flying...I just think we could see more of the flight with a camera that follows the plane.

Cheers...

P,

Personally, i like the static shot of a static cam.

I need to find the optimum focal length for the hill, and work on my positioning of the aircraft.

Glad you like the scenery. It has history too. It was the scene of a famous battle in the English civil war in the 1600s.

A sobering thought to think that 500 men died in such a beautiful spot.

I liked the static shots as well. Very well done.
Some flying shots of the video following the plane would add to the interest but it gets boring to simply see a glider against the sky for 10 minutes.

Yes...there is definitely something to be said for the static shot or position. Hard to believe that so many died there. How sad. I think if I were flying there it would be difficult to let go of that thought and concentrate on my plane.

I have just bought a 808 #16, that was strapped to the wings of the aircraft. Id hoped to include that in the videos but unfortunately for some reason the videos cut off after 30s. I think I had the auto shut off accidentally set. banghead. That would of provided some variety. Go pro helmet cam is on the list of things to upgrade to later.

Thanks all. Nice to get some positive comments and people enjoyed the vid/scenery/flying.
