I had found out the c05xl motor isnt that great the hp05 is much better. I watched some guys videos showing thrust data for the c05, c05xl and hp05. the weight of the c05xl is about the same as the hp05 but thrust difference is about 40g. The thrust difference between c05 and xl is only 10grams! so you are better off sticking with c05v2 there are 3 c05's. c05, c05v2,c05xl

Which co5 has the 1.5mm shaft? Where is the best place to order the hp05?

The only place I know of that has the C05 1.5mm shaft is HobbyKing.
Club Heli, Astroid Designs, chinesejade, and Wow carry the HP05.

I got my 1.5mm shaft unused c05m for $15 shipped from a guy on Helifreak. Think I'll stick with that since the hp05 is almost $40. The power of the c05m is plenty for me although I've heard flight times are a little longer with the hp05.

That was a great deal!
I put a 1.5mm motor shaft in my mCPX C05 motor which had the 1mm motor shaft. Used hardened steel drill rod for the shaft.
If you buy the C05 at Astroid Designs Dylan can install a 1.5mm motor shaft
for you for a small fee if he is still doing this for people. I will ask him if you want as I know him.

I'm happy with my C05. It has plenty of power, great climb out, good flight time, and getting 5,730 RPM with the Nano-tech 300mAh 35C battery.

with stock mini battery and c05 with 7 tooth gear running genius main gear my full negative thrust was 107.5. Anyone know the stock value? I am thinking of rewinding the c05, thats why I am trying to figure out the thrust data. Anyone know of any other motors thrust is on the mini or mcpx? I found the stock thrust on the mcpx is 96.3 , I found thrust data for the hp08 rewound at 244grams thrust.
Also my mini's weight is 34.63 and with lightened canopy its 36.95.
the mcpx weight with canopy is 38.5
mini thrust with c05 7t 107.5 full negative
mini with stock motor 79.5 full negative
mcpx with c05 97.5grams thrust but tomz didnt say what pinion.
mCPx Hawk-RC brushless conversion and Hawk-Power 300mAh Lipo (2 min 9 sec)
<--this guy says 120grams with v2 c05 with 9t.
mcpx stock motor thust is 96.3grams? seems high. was taken from tomz mcpx review page
I want to find hpo5 thrust data for the mcpx and hp06. That will give us an idea of what it can do in the minicp

if you look further down this page http://translate.google.com/translat...inages-bl.html is the c05 on the left a hextronic 5 gram in the middle and a hpo6 on the right

hey mescalin,

Any reason you're using the Genius MG over the Mini stock MG with the 7t? wouldn't that put the headspeed even lower than stock motor/pinion/gear?

I'm running C05m/7t/61t at the moment and it's working pretty well.

I want more battery life. I cant do 3d yet. The only reason why i switched to the c05 is cause my genius motor died. I loved that little motor.

I changed my mind about rewinding the c05. A guy i am chatting with rewound his with 8 turns of 32awg and thinks its more efficient. Two strands of 32 awg 7 turns will probably not fit. The stator is wound from the factory pretty full with copper already. I would definitly try rewinding it if it was broke or if I had another motor to fly my mini with. I just dont want to make my best motor less efficient or powerful. I also dont have any wire that is the stock size. Only 32awg. At least I think its 32. its the same size as the mini's/genius red/clear tail wires.

Anyone have a broke c05 they want rewound for free?

Walkera Mini CP Improved Servo?

I just got some spare Walkera Mini CP servos. I see that they marked the servo
plug with a black sharpie. Does this mean this is the new improved version servo?

Servo arm 90* at mid stick 0* pitch

On my Mini CP I have 0* pitch at mid stick and equal travel of the swash for positive and negative pitch.
Two of my servo horns are at 90* at mid stick 0* pitch. The other servo arm is not at 90*. It is off by one spline position.
Should this be sub trimmed to 90*? If so it needs 23% sub trim.
Or don't bother with it as everything is working correctly.

I had a problem like that too so what i did was put that servo arm onto my elevator servo. Then my two rear servos were the same height. Then I adjusted my link on the front servo with the servo arm that is off by a spline.

Good idea about choosing to make the two rear Servo's the most identical of the three.

However, if at zero pitch a Servo Arm is off 90* by more than 1/2 spline, why not remove and reposition Servo Arm one spline closer towards 90*?

I tried to reposition the servo arm closer towards 90*.
Either get one position higher or one position lower than 90*.

mescalinedream had the same problem I have I see and did what I did also.
Sounds like my servo arm is off off by a spline. I have another servo arm I can try.

Tom Z you might want to add this https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show....php?t=1624581 to your review. To those who dont want to clink on that link, its about WOW's silicone fix for the coil. IT doesnt hold. I just fixed Benboys coil on hiw RX with WOWhobbies silicone. His crash tore the top of the coil off with the wire leaving just the bottom ceramic. I highly recommend clicking on the link to see the pics and info.
