I'd suggest at least a 1.60 twin,as a minimum, and servos are so much better at the flying surface, with short pushrods...80 to 100 oz.will be adequate, unless you tell me in your next post that you want a 3-D aircraft!....then you also want a 300 twin!

That airplane was designed to fly with a .60 -.90,in it's original state.
A good rule of thumb, for sport flying, is 12 lbs. per cubic inch of displacement,so yours could weigh as much as 18 lbs.,and still fly well.

I built and flew a 1/4 scale Nosen Citabria back in the late 80's early 90's. It originally flew with an OS120 twin and flew great on that engine. I later swapped it out for a OS 160 twin as a buddy wanted to use the 120. Flew the same on the 160 at a bit less throttle. Mine weighed about 17 lbs with a Coverite/dope finish. The 160 twin is a fine power plant for the Citabria, flies it in a very scale like manner and you can not beat the sound. Plane has scads of lift. Lost the plane after many fine flights when the TX battery went south on final approach. Still miss it.

Have a kit in the stash that I will build one day and E power.
