Has Anyone Seen One of THESE???...AS3X---MOVE OVER!!!

Title says it all!!!......Seriously, has anyone taken a look at this 3 axis gyro that weighs a scant 8g???...Sounds promising for some of the larger micros...Waduya think???......

There's the manual from the hobbyeagle site.

Not as fancy as the guardian but still worth testing in the small stuff!

Very nice! Seem to be very programmable. Doesn't seem to have any interaction between the 3 gyros though. AS3X has some kind of coordination between gyros allowing the control of more than one axis together. But I'll likely give it a shot for my bigger airplanes! I was thinking about buying the gardian so now, it's a toss up. Though this one is smaller. Good find! Thanks

Somehow, it make HH look good though. They added those gyros to their smallest receivers without cranking the price. The same receivers without the MEMS gyros costed the same as today's AS3X receivers.

I like the specs of the guardian - being able to switch everything to different settings or off, adjust each gain while in flight... nice stuff for the price and size.

Likewise, I see this one as a 'set and forget' system - once it's tweaked nicely you shouldn't have to touch it again.

The AS3X for micro stuff because it weighs less.

I think each one has a place.

Do you know whether it'd work with 1S, 2S, 3S, etc., setups?

That is, does it matter what battery size your plane uses?

Also, will this call for upgraded servos, the way AS3X does?

I've read just a small amount about the Guardian---Something about not being able to use all three gyros at once---Somehow, the rudder gyro can't be use in conjunction with ailerons???---I'm not sure, I'll have to thouroughly read up on both systems...

For a SUPER light setup you could remove the servo pins from both the RX and the gyro board and if you're up to it---Solder the wires directly to each, negating the extra weight of the connectors...Just a thought...

Works on 4 to 6 volts, so basically, it will work with any BEC from a ESC. So 2S and above. The big question is would it work on 1S? Rating is 4V so that would be a BIG no, but often, it's simply to be safe. I know I would be tempted to try it! I fly the AR6300 on 1S even if it's not recommended!

That would make sense... If the rudder need to kick in, you end up with some rolling force that need to be compensated with the ailerons. Without a CPU onboard, that may yield some interesting results for sure.

Thanks, RG.

What about whether it would need upgraded servos, like AS3X does?

I guess it would depend on what you were planning to upgrade from.....Im very curious to see some results from the gents with alot of gyro experience on this little guy. Very intrigued.

I can see why you ask this...A cheap low res servo could get its butt worked to death!!!...Good question!!!

Since the first time they added a gyro on the tail of an heli, a high grade digital servo was a must, so same thing would apply here I guess. 3 decent quality digital servos would likely be a must unless you go very easy on the gain.

No matter how good a gyro system is, if you have a servo failure in flight because it's overused, then you're screwed.
