This is the excert from the translated instructions.

Can someone translate any better?

What interests me at the moment is the amount of movement I need to build into the flap surface.

depth -5 / +5 mm 20% expo
drift -7 / 7 mm
Aileron 18/9 mm 20% expo
component (component + ailerons) 0 / +1.5 / +3 mm (Inter 3 pos)
-10 / +10 Mm (4-axis control)
mixing depth components to -7 / 7 mm (this mix is mandatory for Prodij HM)
20 mm air-brake component (or cross on the end of travel)
fins -20

/!\ Positive throws indicate a control surface going down /!\
- Elevator: -5/+5mm <-> 5mm up/ 5mm down
- Rudder: -7/+7mm
- Ailerons: -18/+9mm <-> 18mm up/ 9mm down
- Flaps (note that this moves the central flap and the ailerons by the same amount):
if using a 3 position switch: 0/+1.5mm/+3mm <-> 0/1.5/3mm down
if flying 4 axis (using throtle stick to adjust flaps): -10mm/+10mm
- Mix elevator to flaps (again this moves the central flap and the ailerons):
AMENDEMENT:
@ -5mm elevator -> +7mm flaps
@ +5mm elevator -> -7mm flaps
- Butterfly/crow brakes: +20mm on central flap, -20mm on ailerons

@Loic: please confirm that the ailerons move with the central flap for elevator to flap mixing.

I will translate the manual in full shortly if someone wants it.

Thanks a lot for that.
I don't think I would have built in -10mm throw on the flap without that info.

Yes, it's a lot of up for a flap. That is why the throw becomes so critical on that servo. You are going to enjoy it!

A full translation would be great, if you have the time.

Yes ailerons moves with the central flap for elevator to flap mixing (same amount for ailerons and flap on both sides).

Translation of the manual is here.

Note 15/05/2012: Corrected version - confused fore and aft, used 'front' now

Cheers

ooops, there is a glitch in the manual: whenever I wrote "aft" think "fore" ;-), I'll correct that and upload the correction...

updated manual, see post above

20mph wind, and warm and sunny

Maiden of ProdiJ

What a great performer.

Even flown empty it whips around the sky, with great aerobatic prowess and also a real nice accurate feel to it.

Very Pleased

ProdiJ HM continues to impress.

Despite a few issues with flat batteries.
The model is fitted with 2/3A 1600 Interlect cells and 5 x MKS 6100 servos. I don't know why but I didn't expect battery usage to be an issue and as the model is great fun to fly I tend to fly it a lot.

It has locked me out twice, and although I haven't completely found out why, I now suspect very high battery usage, following recharging yesterday to 980mah after a 2 hour session.
I have now fitted an on-board battery monitor hopefully this will help to keep the model safe.

Good test though. First "off" was while a friend was flying it and away it went freeflight for quite some time before burying itself nose cone deep into the hillside. Broken tailplane joiner and a small crack in the D Box, broken servo and stripped wing wiring. All soon fixed and as good as new.

Then off it went again, almost out of sight along Rhossili S Wales. It took a couple of hours to find and was buried beyong th eLE of the wing seating, - Nose cone was split for a few cm and pushed so far up the fuz it took two of us and several attempts before we could remove it. End result stripped wing wiring again. Now changed to a plug arrangement that hopefully would disconnect if needed.

This is one strong model that I have now tried hard to destroy twice and nearly lost once - so not a great start.

But now all sorted (I hope) wiring plugged, and repairs all almost as new, and flown lots and lots this weekend.

It is a great model to fly and caused quite a stir on the hill, super fast and turns great.
