Hi all

Trust that you are all well!

I know it has been posted before, but now I cannot find it ....

Anyone got the pin-out for the goPro video cable to connect to a tx module?

Thanks!

Hm. If you strip the covering off the cable, you'll find standard video and audio wires, and a shield wire. Connect the shield wire to a ground wire (the negative wire of your power out/in), and the other wires to their appropriate places (yellow to video, white to audio).

That should do it.

If you want a really clean cable I would suggest that you strip the stock cable down to the jack and remove the plastic encasement with a heated knife. Then you can solder wires directly to the jack and put some heat shrink over them to keep it protected. To figure out what part of the jack to solder to use a volt meter to test the continuity between the colored wires and the jack before removing those wires. Then just solder up the cable and you're done. I have a few pictures on my website from when I setup my FPV gear, but unfortunately I didn't think to take any pictures of how I soldered the cable.

Scroll down a bit to pictures 6 & 12 and you'll see pictures of the cables I used with labels for each of the pins.

Thanks for the reply's all of you, much appreciated.

I would buy a cable tomorrow, but shipment to South Africa takes forever + a day ...

Best answer so far from sg1anubis, thank you, will do the multimeter test. I am using a non gopro cable, so don't know yet what the wire colours will be ...
