Say for example turnigy nanotech 6000mah pack rated at 25 - 50C, we dont know the exact discharge rate, so the worst is 150 and at its best 300? Are these kind of batteries reliable? Or should i get one with an exact number for guaranteed output?

And for the 150a+ power system a 6000mah pack at 25c puts out minimum of 150 and maximum of 300, does that fulfill the requirement?

The second number may be a burst rate

Second number is the burst rating, only good for a couple seconds.

Do yourself a favour and get 40c or 50c packs, 25c isn't going to cut it in an e-buggy. Also stay away from nano-tech packs, they aren't worth the extra money at all.

If you don't care about hardcase packs, you can get either of these:

I have a question regarding the novak brushless kits, they say a 550 size novak hv motors are "required". I want to know of that's really the only choice I have when it comes to motors....or can any 550 size motor will fit the mount?

I would think any 550 will work. Most motors I've bought list the distance between the mount holes so you should be able to check if you have another motor in mind.

well this conversion kit doesn't use the motor mount holes....it uses a heatsink mounting thing...are all 550 size motors same in outer diameter?

Well this is weird. i just tried the stock RC 540 that came out my stock exceed rc monster truck and it wont fit the heatsink...550 is supposed to be bigger than the 540 right?

550 is just longer than 540, the outer diameter should be the same. If the mount is relying on the outer diameter of the motor, the novak 550's might be a bit bigger if they're finned.

Any picture of the mount setup?

teamnovak.com/products/brushless/hv_conversion_combo/index.html

if you slide down all the way there are pictures of all the items in the kit and u can find the mount there...the one I bought is for a mbx5 or something so it seems like ill have to drill 2 new holes...gonna pick up a mod 1 pinion and use a 550 motor to determine where to drill holes

Do you have the mount in your hands yet? If you do, put a non finned 540 motor in it and see how it fits. You can figure out the motor diameter needed from there. I'm not sure which diameter Novak lists as their 550's have part of the can finned and part not.

novak 550's are 36mm wide - standard width and the same as typical 540's

Are they 36mm at the finned part, or the smooth part?

They look finned to me at the ends, but I can't tell from pictures if its actually any bigger in diameter or not.
