My Co-Pilots Rock!!
wolfewinde's Avatar
HI Guys,

Just getting back in the air after a few months off. Flew a 3 channel a couple of times then went right back to my Swift and SU-31. I REALLY like these airplanes.

Got a new radio so I had to set them up all over again, but all went well. Looks like TechOne has been busy coming up with new designs while I was not paying much attention.

Wolfe.

Thanks Vince,

Crossed over 100 combined flights one my Swift and SU-31 today - about 50/50. I think I like the Swift slightly better - not sure why really - both fly very well.

Got some video of my friend Bill flying his Techone Venus X4 today. He flys 3D well and says he really loves this plane! Enjoy.

Me neither! I'd have had that thing hanging from the very top of one of those trees! Those things have built in airplane magnets that turn on immediately if I'm anywhere near their vicinity!

I am getting better though..... I firmly believe it's about stick time. The more time you spend with that plane in the air/radio in your hands, the better you get!

Bill has many years under his belt, I can't even hover myself. Your right about stick time though, I couldn't even fly my foamy a year ago but getting much better. No way I'll fly something as delicate as a Venus anytime soon though.

I would say anything above 1lb with full airfoil wing is more difficult to hover. Anyhow, hovering a super-light Venus outdoors is amazing. You can see the pilot was continuously fighting the wind, great skill!

Yes, you could see the elevator and rudder moving around quite a bit because of the wind!

I enjoy the wind! Not too much though, just enough. The right amount depends on what you're flying. Been playing with a knife edge harrier, or just putting the plane over into a knife edge at a high angle of attack that just sort of hangs there motionless? Short hovers that are blown downwind? Good times....

Just finished repairs on my Swift after an unscheduled inverted landing LOL. Winds are up in the 20's the next couple of days, so grounded temporarily.

I am still working on flat, inverted rudder turn figure eights - I am such a noob

Sounds like an excellent exercise in control? Get's those fingers working! I spend hours doing brain bender stuff like that, and I'm not worth a darn either!

Working on a Techone swift build here:

Should be a decent plane. Will be interesting to compare it to my T-link Yak.

Good idea on the extra carbon... Have a Swift kit but just haven't taken the time to build yet.

Another good video.

Got my Swift back in the air today - she flew well after some repairs - nice to have her active again.

Also flew the SU-31.
