The swash mixing is done in the TX on this one as opposed to the 2618, (the one I just got working), which does the mixing internally.
Do you see any problems I might have getting the 2702 to work?
I posted a model config over on deviationtx.com that was for my 450 pro with a 2702v. You could check that out if you like. But like fdr said, the 6ch heli template should work fine, just make sure your swash is moving the correct directions.

Thanks. I saw that.
I haven't gotten into it yet, but my first question is how do I set the SWASHMIX for A, E, and Pit?
The 2801 has a page for that, but I don't see those settings in the Deviation template.

I'm not sure what a model config is.
Is it a file I can copy over to my Devo 6, and use as is.

The easiest way to load the 6ch heli template.

You can do it from scratch: select helicopter; click on it to select swash type; set Cyclic1-3 mixer type to ELE, AIL and pitch channels (Ch 1, 2, 6); assign the proper inputs to the virtual channels CYC - ELE, AIL, COL (which are the inputs of the CCPM mixing)...
Did I say it is easier to load the 6ch heli template?

Yes that's what it is. You can put it in your model folder on the transmitter and rename it to model(whatever number you want).ini, and it will show up just like your other models.

But it would probably be better to just use the template, so you get used to how deviation works.

Thanks FDR, and flint.
I'll try it both ways just to get some experience with the system.

I have the 2702 RX set up on my Trex 450 Pro, using my Devo 6 in the 2801 protocol.
The servo's, and gyro's are moving the right way, so I think it's ready to fly.
The only thing I can't see is how to change the SWASHMIX levels for the indiviual cyclic servo's.
Do I use the "scale" value to change the levels?

Deviation doesn't use swash mix. Yeah you just change the scale on the virtual channels. Did you just set one up using the template?

YES. I set it up using the template.

I havn't tried using the config file yet.
That's next.

Yes, you can adjust the servo travel with the channel's "scale" value and limit it with the "min" and "max".

Thanks FDR. I tried that, and it works fine.

Just for the record.
Another succes story.

I flew my Rex 450 Pro this morning using my Devo 6 , and the 2801 protocol, with a 2702V RX. It flew fine, just needs a little more tweaking of the settings.

Ok ... Got funds together for a devo. I would really rather the devo 12 but there is no firmware to work yet with the old walkera protocol. Should I just settle on the 8s or grab a 12 now while I can (while I have the wife's permission) and just pray firmware for the 12 will eventually come so I can make use of a dozen old walkera receivers. Opinions??

The DEVO 10 will get deviation before the 12...

ok... so here's an opinion for what it's worth...
the 8S is really as much radio as anyone needs, can be "deviated" now, and can be picked up for about half the cost of a 12S.
Praying for Deviation to make it to the 12S is probably not going to help, I believe it is way down the list of priorities, if it's on the list at all.
Anyway, just think of how much you will be in the good books with wifey for only spending a fraction of what you could have.

I wouldn't say "settle for the 8s" cause like stated its all you will need as far as a tx goes and with the Deviation firmware it blows the 12s away...go for the 8s you wont be disappointed..
