Here's my rudderless install on the Neos with a JR285. Lottttssaa room to play with!
Easily installs 3x JR285 in the pod.

With the servo set like that, how do you connect the string for pull spring setup?

The included 'middle' wire is for making the 2 hooks on each end of the pull string. I just use the 2 hooks to connect to the control and servo horns.

I'd really like all servos in the fuse. 3x JR285 could installed inside neos' fuse would be great!

Slowly making progress. After getting out the yard stick (er meter stick) and a slide rule, I determined that the distance between the stab leading edge and the front bolt was 5mm. Hard points were made as Thomas showed earlier. Also got the "spring" installed along with the control horn. It seemed a tad too long so some was trimmed off the base (plus roughened up) prior to epoxing in.

Also got the "holes" for the wing servos made (plenty of room for the Airtronics 802 servos) plus the channel for the top drive wire. Made some "relief" cutouts in the root for the wing bolts hard points (hard to tell in the picture). Wing panels were epoxied together (currently drying).

Checked the wing leading edge with templates and it is pretty close. Looked sharp but not used to the thin airfoil. Will "polish" up the leading edges later.

A pretty fast build (just need to find the time to work on it). Using West Systems slow epoxy so that needs some time to cure.

Thomas, what kind of foam did you use? Does not look like the usual stuff I have used. Also, would like to see how you attached the wire to the string for the elevator.

Thanks for all the pictures since helps with the build.

Do it AGAIN! This time BETTER!

I would suggest the hardpoint extend to both sets of carbon rods. The carbon rod ends need to be held apart at the center joint. You may need to plug the wire channel with piece of foam until the epoxy kicks.

Sorry you missed some incredible thermals at the field today.

Sorry I have been slackin on pictures, but I have been busy building!

Wings are joined and re-enforced, tail is mounted, wing servos are installed. Only thing is i'll have to to re-install the servos, looks like things were not set up right when i first installed the horns. A little wierd because i KNOW i checked prior to gluing them in. Oh well!

Things to do, Fuse wire harness, battery pack, install horn and spring for elevator, and fix ailerons. Then peg and we will be ready to go! Should be do able by the end of the week!

Robust, I'll be doing that for my next 3 planes I'm building for myself. You saw those new special fuselages

Art, Looks good so far! I agree with Ken, I would tie the hardpoint into both the front and back spars as well. Minimal weight increase, but much stronger joint.
The foam is a XPS foam, the cell structure is quite different than the other ones we tried and the strength along the Z-axis is very good.
I'll take a photo of my string/hooks in a couple mins and upload it.

James, can't wait to hear back on how it flies!

my pull string setup

I crimp the string with aluminum tubing and pliers, and just put a drop of CA to fix it.

The main structural building is completed. Only items left are radio/electrical. Looking good for this weekend but the Mom-in-Law is coming into town. Hopefully that does not slow the process up too much.

Rick, for the right amount of $$$$.... Haha, let me know how you like those tails! Those things are stiff!

Kane, the carbon's on it's way to Hong Kong, but I'm still in Canada on vacation until the 7th. We're looking at the first Dbox kits rolling out around early June. I'll PM you in a sec.

James, maybe you can interest her to help you film! Hohhooho
