Finally, the Neos is done! I don't think it could have survived another day of building. Same mistakes as last time, plus a few more, but the carbon really helped, there were surprisingly few dings and dents from being banged around the workshop as much as it was.

I ended up at 9.6 ounces (272 g), with two servos in the pod, a 250 mah 2 cell lipo, switch jack, altimeter, pushrods, and .9 ounces of lead in the nose. I must have been pretty heavy on the tail epoxy, or maybe it was all the masking tape I couldn't remove after gluing a bunch to the rudder, and elevator, and wing I'm sure the patch on the elevator where I installed the control horn on the wrong side the first time didn't help either.

Ready for some hand tosses tomorrow morning if it doesn't snow or rain, can't wait.

Chris, you're going to love it at that weight! Don't worry about it Did you get the chance to give it a few tosses yet? It'll be great to hear your thoughts.

Robust, I love new mylars!!! nothing like super glassy carbon parts

Hey Thomas, the weather around here has been terrible! I did get out to do some trimming throws, and a couple 75% power launches and I can tell I'll really like this plane. It was windier than I'd like for first flights, but it seemed to handle the wind well. The Neos was more responsive than my other DLG, but that is probably because I have way more travel on the ailerons. With full flaps it just about stops mid air. I still need to work on the flap -> elevator mix, because it's pitching up with flaps, but that should be simple to sort out. CG is at 70 cm, and that seems to be about right with the dive test. Hopefully I'll be able to get out before Spring!

Chris, too bad about the weather! I hate to rub it in but it's been awesome here for the past few months!! Rain and typhoon season is coming up though so we might not get as much flying time as before

70mm's a great location, all of mine are about 69-70 and I love it.

Keep us updated on how it does for 'ya!

I have another 4-5 sets of wings on the table for trimming and will have another set or two on Sunday. Some emails should be sent out today Hope to get this batch out in about 2 or 3 days.

Some updates on the local contest league:

February - Gaoshan got 3nd with his Kevlar Neos
March - Nick Ng got 1st with his Textreme Neos, and I got 3rd flying my Textreme Neos for a few rounds before damaging it and resorting to a backup plane.
