Yeah, right or wrong I'm not sure but that's the way they came out. In regards to my old building habits, they're difficult to diminish. So used to beefing things up so they can handle 200mph and dozens of Gs. At least there's no slop and that was the main goal. As you can see, weight was secondary. I figured the weight of those two rods was justified considering there's no rods for the tail.
Just dropped it on the scale. AUW ready to fly w/rods installed and canopy in place is 9.2oz. Not too bad.

9.2oz or 260grams sounds great for a 22.1 dm^2 wing, that plane should float like a dream!
Yours were the sport Kevlar tails, how much noseweight did it take to reach your current CG?

9 grams along side the receiver to hit 70mm. Of which 5 grams will come out in place of a switch/jack. So, it'll be 4 grams and that could have been eliminated by shifting the servos forward a tad.

Wing load at 3.87oz per sq ft

Pulled the 9g chunk of lead ballast, flipped the R6106hfc and slid it forward a top the 300mAh NiMh then added a short extension to use as a switch. All of which caused a requirement of a mere 5g of lead a top the 2nd servo (see pic). Broke out the CG machine and did it right this time. My big fat fingers tips aren't quite as precise.
Will soon bring myself to carving another hole in this nice fuse and add a 5g switch/jack to eliminate the need for any lead. Already took the Dremel to it 3 different times. Twice on the tail then the exit holes for the control rods. The retaining wire on the hatch allows for very easy removal/replacement so I think I'll make it through this weekend w/o an external power switch.

Also, wound some keeper springs for the Aileron control horns last night and I do believe it's now ready for some air time today. NOTAM/TFR yesterday and Obama collected his cash then skipped town last night so they say we can fly today.

I used the hard-point method for installing the curved throwing blade. That's slicker than snot on a doorknob! The end result is much cleaner than the C/F-Kevlar patch method.
I eliminated a step and installed the blade before the resin setup too much thus, not requiring drilling of the cured hard-point and a second gluing. I heat the resin/micro balloons mixture to 95 so it flows like melted ice cream then use a curved syringe (found at most any farm/feed store) to inject the resin into the cavity of the wing. Will be using the hard-point method for blades in the future!

You were spot on the weight distribution, how cool is that?
Glad to hear you like the hardpoint for the blade, that really is the way to go, and don't need additional cloth outside.

I hope my test wing will be out of the bag next weekend, so I can get it flying by the 25th...fingers crossed

Drat, seems like I won't be able to install my next one 3-in-pod as originally planned. Working on the manual, it appears that I missed some photographs of some steps on my last build, so will have to build it stock and grab the necessary photos.
Doesn't matter, that probably means I can now fit 1500mah's into my nose!
