what sea/float plane would you build for 340cc?

guys n galls

so you have the chance of aquiring a brand new weslake 340cc boxer. twin petrol engine for a "bargain price"

now this is a serious motor.. turns a 36" diameter prop

what model float/sea-plane would you build around it?

don't rush your answer... have a think about it...

and no it wont be going in a half scale cub on floats

The Duck or Walrus would be cool. Other odd-ball favorites: Sikorsky S-39, CAMS 37, Rocheville Arctic Tern, Curtiss SOC-1 or F6C-3, Loire-130, Kawanishi K5Y2 or Heinkel 51B-2, Dornier Do-22, Fairey Swordfish, Latecoere 28,... I could go on.

As you're in the UK David, also check all the regulations with the BMFA, the LMA, and the CAA etc, as I would assume the model will be well within the 'over 20kg scheme'.

Anything of that sort of size, will have to meet all sorts of rules and regulations, including build inspections.
