Hi guys...... just joined the club....... well its on order.... man i cant wait, this is got to be the most excited iv been about a new project ever!!! although i probably say that about every other one too.......

Anyways i have a few questions for you guys.....

Can u fly this in the "dead cat configuration"?? (meaning front arms spread slightly so the camera does not see the front props)

Has anyone hacked the board yet to allow for a GPS or a better barometer to get a more precise alt. hold??

Do the ESC`s have a heat problem, because they are lacking heat-sinks??

Are the ESC`s 10amps or 12 amps?? ( iv read both)

Has anyone used regular ESC`s with the stock FC?? (or what mod is needed to do so?)

Has anyone set theres up for FPV with the eagletree OSD system??

Is it possible to incorporate another RTH system with this FC??

OK i think thats all i can think of right now and i do appreciate anyone willing to take the time to respond....... thank you!!

.

Welcome!

The only reply I can give in response to your Q's is that I think these newer models may have 15 amp ESC's..Can't remember where I read it, but do remember that. Hopefully IFLY will let us know.
Mine has worked flawlessly from receiving it, I hope you like yours too.

Thank you Matt,
So do your ESC`s get really hot after a heavy load flight? or just warm?

No just warm after 13 mins on a 2200 3s..but not put my GoPro and 3300 pack on yet..That will tell. Also heard that on the ESC's it's wise to strip the heatshrink and to check the motor wires coming from the ESC's as apparently the wires are close together and bare, and that they need isolating. Not sure if that's the case or not as I haven't checked, but this is what I heard.

It would also be wise to check the wires going to the led in the motor cup. That is what messed up mine. And is why I had to put a kk2.0 on it

Thanks, will check that out too.

I finished and tested my tilt cam for my GoPro today, am pleased to say it works great, no vibes at all. Here's a short video proving the fact

Testing my homemade GoPro camera tilt mount indoors..vibration isolated, great result.IFLY-4 Quad. (1 min 54 sec)

Now I can't wait to try this outside...Weather in the UK in Nov..usually not good, so hopefully soon...

That looks great, guess those gel inserts did the trick

Weather is keeping me grounded too atm although still need to get a replacement propellor nut as the ones I did get were from an older iFly type so weren't the correct size. Probably going to just have to find and use a steel replacement untill I can get some official ones.

Getting better on the sim though

Regards,

S.

I'm adding some photos to explain how it was done, it's really easy too

S: Sorry to hear of your bad luck regarding the prop nuts, was it unmanned who supplied the nuts? Maybe send them back and ask them to send the later model ones when they come in? Good to hear your sim flying is improving

I might get another outdoor test flight in today: Doesn't look too bad atm. I didn't use the Scholl gel inserts, my brother has his own shoe repair business, I got the foam from him (the grey stuff) for free as they are offcuts. The yellow foam my camera sits on is glued using rubber cement-UHU POR. Any foam safe contact cement will do.
Remember to cut the holes in the foam big enough to clear your bolts, as you should avoid the bolts coming into contact with the foam, as it will reduce vibration even further. Don't forget to check the balance of your props and adjust as necessary.

Here's some pics of my camera mount, and an explanation of how I did it.

I hope that helps!

Matt

No problem!

I just flew outside and my cover blew off, it's landed in thick shrubbery above my garage...I recorded another video, the GoPro is pretty stable image wise, just the occasional vibes persist at times, very slightly, so I will see what I can do about that!

Gonna fly again tomorrow with my camera pointing straight down to see if I can find it
