...one of the model flying clubs

Hi Mark,
here only two links of the flying field or from the Freiburg model flying club LSGK. The contact addresses can be found on the homepage (left side "Vereinsvorstand")

Greetings and have fun in the new environment
Thomas

Hi, Mark, in the mean time, I received a few answers to my question on the RC-Network.de.
You can see them here : http://www.rc-network.de/forum/showt...-Raum-Freiburg

The posts are in german, but the links should help you.

One of the users there sent me a PM, recommending you contact Christian Magnus at info@magnusoptik.de .
He is one of the moderators at the www.thermik-board.de forum.
Although that board is strictly about sailplanes, he is very knowledgeable about the rc flying scene in the Freiburg area, and will be able to point you in the right direction.
I am also told that english language is not a problem with him.

Hope this helps,
Michael

Well if you're ever in the Kaiserslautern/Sembach area, shoot me a note we fly at the old airfield over in Sembach when the weather is nice and it's not too far from Ramstein Airforce base. We fly 800mm on up to park size.

Sembach huh? I live in the Ramstein area and I've recently been bitten by the flying bug. Started out last Fall flying the HobbyZone Champ and have moved up to the Apprentice. I have about a dozen flights on the Apprentice since the end of January. I go out every opportunity I can get. I would love to check out the Sembach area. My son, who is now in college has a T-28 Trojan 800mm and a SE5a that are calling my name once I get more experience under my belt.

I am stationed at Ramstein, and fly out of Altenglan at the club field there if you are ever interested.

Jeremy,

I'm definitely interested. I live in the neighboring village of Kollweiler. What type of planes/air frame do you fly?

Steve,

I just replied to your a private message. Let's fly soon! I have a sport cub s2, a radian, and a hangar 9 gas cub that I just got, but it isn't in the air yet. Oh, and i just ordered a Bix 3 to mount my GoPros to and play around with. Looks like you are flying the apprentice, that seems like a good plane. Hit me back and let's fly some foamies!

Hey guys,

I too am ordering the apprentice in the near term. ...my original idea was to fly in the fields behind my house in weilerbach, but not sure the landing situation would be ideal. I fly small planes in real life, but would love to hook up with a mentor to help teach me the r/c side!

I was flying in the fields just outside Weilerbach this past Sunday. You're right, the landing situation wasn't ideal because the path I was landing on was just wide enough to accommodate the 55" wingspan of the Apprentice. It made landing a little tricky.

There's a flying club nearby that Jeremy has been telling me about, but life has been too busy for me to make it there or the weather hasn't been the greatest. I'd love to trying flying there as I hear the take-off/landing area is pretty nice.

Shoot me a private message with you contact info so we can arrange a time to go flying.

Hi everyone.
I have just moved to Aachen and I wonder if it is mandatory to join a club to fly my quadcopter and 1.4m electrical plane or I can talk to some farmers and fly on their territory?
To be honest I can not afford 200Euros club fees yearly(because I am a student) while I am going to fly a few times monthly.
