1930 Chris Craft (Dumas)

This is my nearly finished Dumas 1930 Chris Craft. Speed was clocked at 13.4kph which was a little short of hoped for performance but the duration on a 2000mA.H, 11.1V LiPo was an astounding 38 minutes. During this time it covered just over 4Km. Prop is an Octura OCY354P but this could change.
My bigger (4') woody is more spectacular but only runs about 12-15 minutes off the same battery.
I'll play with a few different props but I believe I'm in the right area now and operating somewhere between maximum efficiency and maximum power.

Nice looking boat, was this a kit you built?

Yes this is the Dumas 1230 kit of the 1930 Chris Craft 24' runabout
It's a challenging build for two reasons - it's double skinned (diagonal planking inside and longitudinal planking outside)
It's a clear, natural finish. This means If you goof up the planks you can't use filler and paint over it.
I was hooked when I saw pictures of woodybob's boat and would even consider building a second one. It's a beautiful style boat and the kit is very complete.
