Let's Take a Costa Cruise... NOT!

Looks like Costa is having another bad day but at least this vessel hasn't ended up on the rocks.

Fire leaves cruise ship adrift in pirate-infested Indian Ocean

When I first saw a photo of Allegra, I thought it a weird looking ship & now I understand why.

Like cats, these ships have nine lives. I expect that when business falls off, she'll
revert back to carrying containers. In the end, she will mysteriously sink while being towed to the shipbreakers.

I'll bet that you could cut some really super deals right now on future Costa cruises---.

That is if they even HAVE a future---.

If you have the time, and are interested in how a fire can put out power ship wide, and
the trouble it can create, then take a moment to read the BLOG by John Heald.

He was cruise director aboard the Carnival Splendor when it suffered a fire
off the coast of Mexico. Cold meals were the least of their problems.

I heard that changing the name of a ship was asking for bad luck. This one's on about its 4th name....

Mmm, tugs...

Fishing boat or tugboat?

French tuna seiner... and a second one from the same company coming in to help... a couple tugs from the Seychelles are on hand too, but probably not welcome- he who gets there first and completes the tow, gets the salvage payout!

that is legend, I disagree though, for the exception of one boat, every one I've worked on has been renamed, one boat 6 times! the boat was built in 1953 and is still floating, I wont say its going strong.

Fire's happen, and the fact that the ship, still looks like a ship ..Say's something to how the crew reacted..
This was an unfortunate circumstance..

The Costa Concordia was a pissing contest between two (socalled) Captains to see who had the biggest nads.

No-doubt Costa will be hurting over this,If they are smart they would remind the public of the difference.

ok a sinking will harm the image but the company can recover

a fire on a ship, again the company could recover,

but to have both within 2 months of eachother, the media are having a field day! that WILL harm the company
