Yep, 4s spinning a 14x7 Xoar. It's the standard 750kv wind.

that motor really accentuates the laser, having run both a 140g 12x6 sk3 4s and the 3615 13x7 5s you will certainly lose a lot of floatiness of the lighter motor but the 3615 can really muscle that plane around when it comes to the gryoscopic ability of the laser.

You have probably noticed Irg that it doesn't quite tumble like the mxs does but its got the ability rotate around and yaw very positvely for some reason. The bigger motor just really builds on that.

actually I'm very happy with the tumbling ability since switching to the 85mg. brought the pitch authority to life. I like the idea of the short-canned 3615, but the 2820 is holding up fine so I have no reason to change.

ye, the short can is one of the great features of the 3615. it makes it structurally really strong so no chance of the magnets hitting the stator or the motor tearing itself in half as can happen in longer can motors. the short can also seems to keep itself cool a bit better.
I've done a few bench tests and it also more efficient spinning the same prop faster for the same input power compared to the 2820.

But the 2820 is a great motor too.

Here's another vote for those servos. Just ran 6 packs through mine this afternoon, it had been a while...forgot how much I love this plane!!

Hey everyone my friends just suprised me with a laser and the power combo for it as an Christmas present, anyways all i need is servos what do you guys think are the best for it? Im intrested in trying the Savox SH0255 because I can run them all the way around with a seprate cc bec to use 6v. Are these servos worth it and what horns would be the best for these servos?

Thanks Dean

I just got some Futaba 3156's and haven't installed them yet, but if Curtis likes them that was enough for me to try them out.

Can you use those all the way around or do you need a bigger one on the elevator? I trust him to just haven't had a 48" exp plane yet just the 60" extra. What horns are the right one for those futaba's to get the best travel? I do a lot of high energy maneuvers so I'm just trying to figure out the fastest yet strongest one that fit nice in the plane. Thanks!

I am going to install them tomorrow but I plan on using the stock arm on the rudder and the phenolic added to the stock arm for the elevator.

Maybe someone who has used on the Laser can chime in....

They claim 54 oz torque at 6 volts. That is WAY plenty if true.

That's awsome I plan on the same and I have the extra bec so I can't set it to 6v instead of 5 like I think the airboss has. Thanks for the info I think I'll order those nice that they fit in the stock hole to.

To my knowledge the airboss has a 6v BEC

Newer Airboss (like maybe 2 years old and younger?) does have 6 volts.
