The motor calls for a 12x6 to 13x7 so I am not sure, any advice would be great on the prop size!

For what it's worth tony, my VQ mig3 has the power 46 spinning a 14x6 master airscrew,
battery is a 6s 4200mah,

VQ P-51B Shangra La

Tony -- I converted a VQ P-51 (the "Shangra La" edition) about 3 years ago. Mine is set up to fly on 4S 3000 mah lipos. I intended to fly it as soon as I completed the project, but several things got in the way and it's still a hangar queen! This is one of only two hangar queens in my fleet of 20+ RC electric birds. I do have four of the 1400 mm wingspan FMS foamy warbirds (P40, P51D. Stuka and Mosquito) -- all of which I fly fairly often.

My VQ P-51B has been hanging on my wall for so long, I can't honestly recall the numbers I saw on my watt meter when I ran tests -- but I think it was in the vicinity of 150 watts per pound -- plenty for good sport performance. The conversion and build seemed to be a pretty neat job, but some of the new innovations would have made it easier. For example, I used mechanical retracts with servos, where today I would use some of the nice servoless retracts.

Prob'ly the biggest reason I never flew the VQ P-51 is that I got into flying aerobatic RC electrics -- a couple birds from Precision Aerobatics and a couple from the 3D hobby shop. But I still think my VQ mustang is one of the best looking birds in my fleet, and I still hope to fly it someday.

If you're interested, I can lower it from its wall perch, and photograph any parts you might be interested in.

It's the monster power .46 670kv, although it's rated for up to 5c lipo it handles 6 cells.
