the A-10 designed and cut by cnc .

We joked at little about doing it. and the hell took me and did it.
Jonas is going to assemble it, when he have finished the Crusader.
Here it is with helping tools for wingsadle cut out as well as the elevator cut out.
and naturally support block for the tail when you work on the model.
More details will follow.

Lighter wings

the accuracy of cnc makes hollow wings real possible.
the solid 97 grams
the hollow 60 grams.

This is very nice.

What software are you using for the design and for the CNC cutting?

Thanks,

Very nice, what size is it going to be in the end?

any idea on what edf's you are going to use 70's, 90's?

I'd be interested in maybe purchasing one if your thinking of selling a set.

the way we do it here.

The A-10 is designed for 2 X 70 mm fans (wm400)
but should be able to take all 70 mm fans tractors as well as pushers.

Size is 1500 X1500 mm ( 5' x5')

the whole idea with this project is to see can i make them like industrie.
and pack i down in a box that does not kill the project by too high costs for transport .

all of this model is done a simple cnc hot wire cutter.
Later it will be done on the combo router/ hot wire cutter as it would run double as fast as the one i use right now.

https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show....php?t=1585260

it is made in the living room, the garden house & and the lathe.

Claus,

have you seen the way qwerty cuts his kits? he uses the CNC machine to make all the cuts, but leaves the cut material inside, so basically, he ships the cut pieces inside the block it was cut from. is this a possibility for you too?

Hi there Claus,

Shipping will get you in trouble like this. Customers will receive their models trashed.
You have 2 options:
a) - to fill the box with foam leftovers. You can build yourself a sort of a mesh, a nichrome grid, heated up, and just put the leftovers on it. They will melt trough this mesh in smaller sizes. Put the model parts in the box, and then just fill the box up with the leftover foam, like confetti.
b) - leave the parts in the block. You can check qwertys or my method. Also, it'll save you material. While designing your models, just before cutting, do a search on google for nesting software. There are few available, for free. The nesting software will find you the best match of the parts onto the sheet. You save material and time. You can cut a whole fuse with just one cut!

For my models I used both a. and b. methods.

Hope it was helpful.

Take care and good luck with your models.
