8/3/12: You should only be using the methods found in this thread if you've ALREADY attempted to install the DJI Assistant software and came up with a driver error. NORMALLY the DJI Assistant would include the installation process for the driver setup.

Link: http://www.dji-innovations.com/produ...tor/downloads/

If the DJI Assistant software setup didn't successfully install the driver, then continue reading.

If you don't feel like reading through 7 pages [as of 8/3/12] (my my, you must be lazy), you can skip to page 5. It has a nice little picture guide (if you can't read) on how to get the drivers working. It's recommended you read through this thread as TahoeEd details other setup issues you're likely to encounter.

open up the package copy the files somewhere (usually i'll just drag and drop to the desktop.

Right click "My Computer" ---> Properties ---> device manager.

find the DJI COM controller (should be in the list of devices; make sure your VU is plugged into a USB port and your quad being powered with a battery)

once you find the controller, right click on it ---> Update Driver Software ---> point it to the files you extracted. make sure you use the appropriate driver. if using a win 32 bit system use the 32 bit driver, 64 bit version = 64 bit driver

Did this work for you?? i spent about an hour or so trying to figure out how to get the driver installer to launch...i downloaded a program that would allow me to open the .RAR file...but once i got it to my downloads folder on my PC, i double clicked and it showed a DOS screen for about 2 seconds and then nothing...so hopefully what Hoot provided will work for me...
