Question

Nitroplanes Aerosky 55" Extra and Sbach

Anybody have more information or photos of these planes? Looks like you can order them already from nitroplanes.

Subscribed... I really want a Sbach and am trying to decide between the HK and Dynam EPO's or a full balsa Sukhoi. It's the first plane that made me say "wow". Is there a Sbach in any of the simulators or at least a similar flying model?

Yo I hear ya!!! And just when I thought my credit card was starting to heal!!!

A 55-incher...now that's a big honkin flamie...I see the Extra has the sfg's on

Just looking at a pic, tho, the ailerons seem a bit skimpy for 3D?

smoke is my wattmeter
Yeah, the extras look more like nice aerobatic planes, not exactly 3d with those control surfaces. The Sbachs look to have bigger control surfaces. A true 3d plane that size and weight would really need a step up in watts and worse yet, bigger batteries that I don't have.

Yeah Krex that's my take too...when you get up into this size & mass, it really takes some big control surfaces & fairly strong servos to get anywhere near true 3D...9g servos ain't gonna cut it...also, I was surprised only 2200mah on the batts? Id have thought min 2650's

Between the two, looks like the Sbach would have more pop

My initial reaction is quite positive. I look forward to getting it in the air in a week or two.

Found my first problem(s)

The supplied motor mount, prop adapter and spinner are designed to work with a very specific motor. :-(

I cannot figure out which motor from the Nitroplanes parts list.

I've got a Turnigy SK4250-650kv which should work well with the supplied 15x7 prop - which appears to be a clone of the APCe 15x7 prop.

I should be able to fabricate an alternate motor mount, but the layout doesn't make this as easy as a 'normal' balsa ARF. And I won't be able to use the stock spinner.
