The Testors and Tamya line of plastic paint in spray bombs works well for a lightweight finish.

Even water-based household paints will work nicely, what we call "emulsion" over here but I believe you probably call "latex" .

Acrylics work really well; one of the best is Golden, which can be purchased at some art supply stores.

REAL old new guy!
Lacquer works good on CPP foam. FAST drying.

The dollar store water based accrylics work great if your brushing. I dilute it a bit with water to thin it out.

Clean the plane with rubbing alcohol 1st!!! Krylon FUSION paint from Wally World works well. Use several very thin coats.

I use water based semi matt emulsion (household internal wall paint) mixed by DIY shop to colour I want. That does a great job on WW1, WW2 warbirds where semi matt was the type.
Gloss - I use spray lacquer as sold for poster use.

Lacquer :

Here's examples ...

Me109 .. in semi matt emulsion ..

Undermarkings by permanent marker pen ...

HK Parkjet in Lacquer spray, freehand with no masking between camo colours ..

My 50mm EDF T45 before, during and after lacquer spray ..

painting foam

Hello, I just came from A.C. Moore's (a rather large craft store here in Knoxville) and the clerk there put me on something. I was looking for the H2O by Krylon, it appears a lot of places have quit carrying it. I ask the clerk and she said she did foam projects a lot and she used a paint called "Design Master" she said if it had Design Master on it she wasn't afraid to use it on foam. I bought several cans and when I got home I took a scrap of the Dollar Tree foam I am using for Jets and painted it,,,,,,,,It looks great. cost is slightly more than I gave for H2O but it has been several years since I bought any. Thanks for taking time to read my ramblings.
