Ahh yes another super cub question

Ok guys I have read many threads about the plane. Pretty much I am going brushless. I already have a new receiver and found a aluminum motor mount picked out http://www.ebay.com/itm/Hobbyzone-Su...item3cc0606191

My question which is the best motor for it and do the cheaper ones work just as well? The local hobby store sells the eflight 480 for $50 which seems the going rate for it. But hell figured I would ask and see about the cheaper motors. Thanx and sorry for another thread on this as I know there are many just didnt see any about different motor choices

On one of my Super Cubs I'm running a Hobbypartz Exceed RC Alpha 480 (910kv). It pulls 245w at 22A on a 10x7 prop. I'm using (I think) a Mystery 30A ESC. That motor you linked would work but I (personally) would look for a lower kv one that can handle a larger prop. No problem using a higher rated ESC. I think I read here to use the 20% rule (get an ESC capable of handling 20% more than what the motor pulls).

You could just get an appropriate motor and your aluminum mount all from HeadsupRC:

And your ESC at the same time. All shipped for about $3.00.
